You never know what you’ll find at our monthly shows at The Old Red Lumberyard Junk Market in McKinney, Texas where I’ve been a dealer for almost three years. This February show was no exception. I spotted a gorgeous pair of chairs calling my name. I wandered over to have a look and decided to pick up a chair and turn it over to see if it was marked. Always look to see if a piece of furniture is marked with the manufacture, etc. There underneath was a brass tag marked Kittinger. Kittinger has been in business since 1866 in New York and manufactures extremely high end 18th century reproduction upholstery and case goods. They have been furnishing the White House since the early 70s.
The finish on the pair is tired and needs work or maybe a coat of white or black high gloss lacquer.
What would you do with these if they were yours?
